Views From A Paintball Cynic
Rob “Tyger” Rubin has crafted one heckuva superior blog. “Views From A Paintball Cynic” is excessively well written, and brings up many great opinions that I disagree with.
Apparently it’s been around since 2005, but no one told me anything about it! That’s okay though. I forgive you.
Here is what Tyger has to say about his blog:
So what can you expect from this blog? Views from someone who’s been burned by the best, ripped off by the worst, and tired of towing the party line when it comes to dealing with these people. Paintball has problems, and instead of dealing with them the entire industry would rather pretend they didn’t exist at best, or cash in on them at worst.
It’s pretty delicious and refreshing for me, a paintballer who thinks about things in a more positive light than this gentleman (who I simply must refer Evan to, seeing as how Evan is such a cynic himself.) I think paintball is in the crapper, but I think I’m a bit more hopeful than Tyger.
Anyway, Views From A Paintball Cynic is totally worth a read. Five thumbs up and all that.

Well, not EVERYONE has to agree with me. That’s the beauty of the internet. In fact, I’d prefer it if people didn’t all agree with me. That tells me there’s independent thought and the world isn’t filled with “yes men”.
And honestly, I prefer a world with some disagreement. There’s only so much “touchy-feely” I can take before it makes me sick. I want people to disagree, or at least have their own opinion on the topics I bring up. “Sheeple” scare me when they blindly follow and don’t think for themselves.
And if yer gonna quote my first post, at least post the disclaimer too. “It’s pathetic I have to say this, but for the many people who don’t understand subtle or dark comedy, this blog is filled with satire, sarcasm, and general poking of fun at the universe. Don’t take life too seriously, you won’t get out of it alive.”
And that’s what it’s about, or at least what it’s become in the 2 years I’ve been writing that. It’s part satire, part cynic (well, mostly “cynic”, but I digress), and part “reality check”.
But I do appreciate the kind words. I’m a cynical bastard, I admit. But then again, after 18 some-odd years doing this paintball thing, I’ve seen a lot of things and heard a lot of promises made over and over again. After a few years of that, you tend to get a little jaded. And long ago JT stopped making rose-tinted goggle lenses, so what else am I supposed to do?

Yeah, it’s absolutely a bummer that JT stopped with those tinted lenses. And my apologies about not posting your disclaimer as well. I just figured people would see it when they went to your site.

Ehh, I’m not worried. Unless you’d like me to be. Make some fake drama about blogging.

Or should I keep going? *feh* As you can tell, I’m so concerned.

Security at the front gate was relaxed a bit, so I managed to sneak in.
Don’t tell anyone, I’m enjoying the free shrimp cocktail.
