The Safety of Paintball

by

There is a huge misconception that paintball is an unsafe sport. The media portrays it as a game of violence and warfare. We, as paintball players and promoters, can fight this image by continuing to promote paintball safety, and by showing the public statistics like these:

Sports Injuries Report*

Yearly Injuries per 1000 Participants

Water Skiing (260.84)
Wrestling (36.46)
Football (30.17)
Baseball (28.42)
Hockey (21.92)
Basketball (19.76)
Soccer (12.59)
Boxing (11.34)
Gymnastics (10.49)
Volleyball (4.03)
Snow Skiing (2.99)
Racquetball (2.77)
Tennis (2.77)
Fishing (1.43)
Golf (1.22)
Archery (0.85)
Bowling (0.47)
Paintball (0.24)

Look at that people! Out of 1000 paintball players, only a quarter of one player is seriously injured! I attribute this to the industry’s emphasis on paintball safety. So keep it up everyone, and don’t shoot any eyes out anytime soon.
