Ego8 Launched
In case you hadn’t noticed, the Ego8 was launched to relatively little fanfare about a week ago on the 11th at Millenium’s Paris event. I applaud Planet Eclipse’s decision to release their latest Ego in Europe rather than in the USA with every other gun at PSP World Cup in Florida. European pride! They are the last remaining decent company in the UK. Lucky is no longer decent and barely mentionable.
Mmph, so the important part! Ego8’s ship this Friday, the 19th, in the US. So get your Ego preordered now! Only $1250. *cough… cough*

Next up, we’ve got the good, the bad, and the ugly about the Ego8.
The Good
It’s an Ego. There has not been a bad one yet, and the Ego8 is looking to be the best of the bunch. A new poppet system has altered the operating system slightly, for better efficiency and a softer touch on paint. The 05 and 06 Ego both had some issues with shooting difficult paint. The Ego8 also ships with a Cure Bolt and Zick Kit, both of which were available as upgrades last year for the Ego7.
The Bad
Well, it really isn’t that much different from an Ego7. In fact the differences between an upgraded Ego7 and a Ego8 will be practically negligible. I’m almost certain that it would take an amazingly gifted person to tell the difference in weights.
The Ugly
First of all, people are going to buy the Ego8. What’s bad is that no one will complain, and this could continue like the Matrix Series into worthless redundancy. The Ego8 is a great gun, don’t get me wrong. But this is the path that leads to complacency and away from ingenuity and inventiveness.
