Drop Forward or No Drop Forward?
With today’s guns becoming smaller and smaller, do drop forwards do any good? In most cases the answer is no.
Going without a drop forward will enable you to plant the tank solidly into your shoulder, which will make snapping and gunning on the run much easier because the gun will stay stable. If you were to put a drop forward on, and then shoulder your gun like you normally would, it’s going to raise a few inches higher. If a drop forward is large enough, it can make your shooting wrist bend at an awkward angle, possibly preventing you from walking as fast and will force your elbow to stick out more.
But if you still want to look into a drop, don’t go bigger than anything that will move it forward or down more than two inches in either direction. For mechanical guns like Spyders or Tippmans (where walking doesn’t play a big role) a drop can actually balance a gun. Other than that, I wouldn’t recommend it.
