Dye Skull Camo - Possible the Ugliest Thing I’ve Ever Seen

Monday, May 28th, 2007

Uhhh - wow.

Whaaaaat?! Camo is all the rage right now, and skulls are just down right hardcore…but what is this? The first thing is the color scheme, which is the main problem. Is that a light green? And what’s the deal with the purple? Instead, what I would’ve done, would make the pattern black, white, and gray, and definitely make the skulls a lot bigger. From a distance, it just looks like an anno job gone wrong, so size does matter in this case. I really hope this isn’t serious, because this look blows. I mean, how can anybody find this attractive?

That's ugly

Now doesn’t this look so much nicer?

Yeah, I thought so too.

Big News From Spyder! 07 Sonix, 07 Victor

Friday, April 27th, 2007

Rejoice! Spyder hath released brand new killing machines under the names of “Sonix” and “Victor”. That’s right, delay your 07 gun purchases no longer, you can now buy these gun in assorted flavors all over the internet for not-so-surprisingly low prices!

Now, seriously folks, these guns aren’t bad per se. They just aren’t really anything new. Let’s look at the features that are actually useful.

And looking… and looking… oh here’s one!

Rubber grips. Those old plastic grips Spyders used to ship with were damn uncomfortable.

And another! New Spyders come stock with 9.5 inch barrels. ONE POINT FIVE inches longer than the old standard of 8. How ’bout them apples.

Uhm… okay, well that’s about it. So go buy them Spyders. Only 70 or 80 bucks. (Honest opinion, these guns are fine. But only just.)

*EDIT*

OMFG, it finally happened. Evan and I posted about the same subject. Which I blame his ass for, ‘cos I wrote this last night, and he definitely hadn’t posted it by then.

On another embarrassing note, I misspelled Spyder as Spider. Sweet Baby Jesus, what was I thinking? Actually, I really wasn’t. It was the whole “Writing at 1 in the morning, after a 20 hour day” thing. Sorry to all who were traumatized and/or put into medical treatment after laughing so hard from our n00bish mistakes.

Spyder Sonix 07

Friday, April 27th, 2007

Starting at only $79.99, I present to you…the Spyder Sonix!

Sonix

* 9.5 inch aluminum barrel
* Vertical feed neck
* Dusted matte finish annodizing
* Pull pin top cocking knob
* Delrin bolt construction
* Quick disconnect pin
* One piece velocity adjuster / spring guide
* Ergonomically designed composite trigger frame
* Two finger trigger
* No slip rubber grip panels
* Standard CA thread vertical adapter
* Low pressure chamber
* Aluminum fore grip
* Inline bottom ASA
* Stainless steel braided hose

Hahahaha, does anybody else find this funny? Here’s the deal, for only another hundred bucks you can easily buy a used Ion, and no matter what you say about it, it’s still a good entry gun. If you don’t feel like spending that much, then just go with the Spyder Aggressor. Man I did a lot of killin’ with that gun…*reminisces on the good ole woodsball days*

Some BA 07 Egos

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

When it comes down to quality, durability, and just outright sexiness, the new 07 Ego just puts the beat down on every other marker. And just when you think it can’t be any hotter, they go and put some BA anno jobs on them. Check them out yourself.

Team Avalanche Ego

Avalanche

New England Hurricanes

Canes

And finally, Infamous. The colors are okay, but my favorite aspect of the marker is the George W. Bush “Helping Good Teams Lose”. That’s sheer brilliance there.

Sorry about the small picture quality (I can’t make them any bigger). I can, however, point you in the direction of PBNation where you can see these markers in all their glory, as well as a few other annoed 07s.

The Hybrid Fusion

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

The new Hybrid Fusion recently hit the market, coming in with a price tag of $425.00.

Hybrid Fusion

Surprisingly, that’s only $50.00 more than the regular. It’s not quite as awesome as I hoped it would be. Sure, it looks pretty stylish and all, but nothing else has changed except for the grips, on/off ASA, the milling, and the feed neck. Now I really like what Hybrid did to the Shocker (really really like it), so perhaps my expectations were a little high. I don’t know…there’s just nothing special about it. Anyways, here are the specs:

Hybrid Fusion Features:
• Electronic LED switch
• Semi / Ramping
• Runs off one 9 volt battery
• Nitrogen/Compressed air only
• 250 psi low pressure air-ram
• Quick release bolt
• Overall length - 19.7 inches
• Includes 2 piece barrel - autococker threadsWeight - 2.5 lbs.
• Infrared rays sensor strike
• Vertical regulatorAnti-chop break beam eye
• Large Trigger Guard
• Hybrid Custom Milling
• Hybrid Jewels on the body
• Hybrid Hedloc Feedneck
• Hybrid On/Off ASA and Rail Mount
• Hybrid Grips

After comparing them to the regular DP Fusion, the only changes are the things with Hybrid next to them – not that big of deal.

Hybrid Traitor Shocker with Contract Killer Engravings - WOW!

Wednesday, March 7th, 2007

I no longer want the FEP Q7 anymore, I found something newer, sexier, and down right electrifying. Check out this sick “Contract Killer” engraved Shocker! I’ve never seen anything like this before! Not only do the Hybrids have kick ass looks, the artwork on this is frickin’ incredible.

Hybrid Traiter Shocker - Contract Killer engravings

And don’t worry about a hefty price tag – hah! Just messing with you! It has a price of $1,350. That’s not real bad, considering most new guns come around that range, and the regular Hybrid 07 is running about $1,300 right now. So basically you’re paying an extra $50 bucks for a very, very nice engraving.

Yeah, one of those on my dresser would be nice about now – and didn’t I tell you I’m a gun whore wannabe? I’ll be working all summer though, and maybe even before that, so depending on the pay, I hope I can snatch me one of these by the end of summer (and that’s only if they aren’t sold out by then).

FEP Quest

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

So apparently these are the teasers for the new FEP Quests coming out – not there isn’t anything wrong with teasers, because wow, those are nice! Rumor has it that they are the private labels for the Miami Raiders, because they have so many stickers hanging there.

Jaw dropping ins't it?

That's what I thought.

As one PBNationer put it, “Ok that settles it, my next gun = Quest.” I might have to second his action, because I have new sites on a marker. Forget the Shocker, forget the Ego, the Q7 is what I want for now.

The Airow Gun

Monday, March 5th, 2007

Well, well, well. It was only a matter of time before someone came up with the gun that everyone’s been joking about for years. This bow and arrow paintball gun has to be the coolest innovation I’ve seen in a long time. I can already see the Robin Hood Scenarios sprouting up.

I assume the FPS is controlled by the string tension, which would be interesting adjusting at the field. The actual gun is an attachment to your bow, so the set-up is quite expensive. For a decently good bow, it’s around $300, and this attachment is $250. I’d rather have an ‘05 Shocker for the price, thanks much.

For a woodsball type gun though, it has to be hellaciously quiet. Plus, no CO2 or Air fills. And what looks to be a 8 round hopper. After you buy it, there aren’t many more expenses. Depending on how accurate it is, it could well be a scenario paintballer’s dream

Evil Minion Vs Proto Matrix 07

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

Evil also releasing their newest 07 Evil Minion, and what a surprise, another PM clone! Only this time I think it looks even more like the real PM! Oh well, I guess it’s still pretty cool…I guess. But seriously, I think we need some new gun designs to spice things up. The only new thing we’ve seen lately is the Mini.

The Evil Minion

Vs

Proto Matrix 07

And as if the school weeks don’t drag on long enough as it is, they now decide to coordinate a massive attack by giving us an AP Biology test, AP Precalc test, and then a physics test, none of which I really pay much attention too because I’m too busy doodling paintball things on my desks. Saturday won’t come soon enough, because then we’re heading up to Friendly Fire and bringing some new players along with us. Just three days left…

PBNation is also offering up another great deal! This time it’s a drawing for annual supporting members (ASM) to win a free Dangerous Power Fusion. They will be giving away two Fusions, and you must sign up for a membership by March 13, 2007 to be eligible to win. Don’t forget to read the fine print as well, because there’s plenty of it! You can find the registration details here.

Brass Eagle to Release New Tactical Marker

Monday, February 12th, 2007

Brass Eagle is soon to release a new marker called the T-Storm tactical marker. I figure I could give them another chance at redeeming themselves from all the other worthless trash they’ve created before, so I clicked on the link. Nope. Not even close. Honestly, why do they even try anymore? They fail at paintball! They don’t even make semi-decent equipment, and yet they continue to crank out more and more junk.

CRAP

The hopper, what’s up with that? It looks like it somehow defies the laws of physics because it sits a mile above the gun. Actually, looks more like a sledge hammer. Either way, it’s absolutely ridiculous. And the silver barrel? Not hardly something I’d want on my gun if I was going to be “stealthy” and all ninja leet.

I don’t care how poor you are, you do not have to buy Brass Eagle guns to play woodsball or what have you. Buy used, save just a little more money, just do not waste it on BE! You’re going to enjoy the game so much more when your gear works properly, believe me.

Here’s a link to the video ad on Google. It’s hard not to laugh.

Do You Know What You’re Looking At?

Friday, January 26th, 2007

Lucky... Ion?

I don’t know, do you? It appears to me to be a Lucky Ion, completely revamped, with new uhm… EVERYTHING.

Grip frame looks like a complete departure from the stock frame, the barrel will probably be UN1tec or something like it, the trigger looks sick, like an old JT Protium or something, and the body looks like one of the best I’ve seen for the Ion.

Other notables: snatch grip, CP reg…, feedneck, grips. All looking like… well, certainly not stock.

My estimated retail price for this complete Ion: $400+.

Hybrid Traitor Series DP Fusion

Monday, December 18th, 2006

I’m kind of a fan-boy of Dangerous Power, and so I’m really freaking pumped that Hybrid is making their own version of the Fusion. Hybrid’s Traitor markers have long been held as some of the sexiest private-label variants of the top guns on the market today.

Hybrid Technologies

As of now, only rumours are available for the specs of the Traitor Fusion, all that is certain is that Hybrid will be making a variant. Supposedly, this variant will only be running about $50 more than a second gen. Fusion, so about $450. I’ve got my doubts, but what it may end up being is just a new frame/trigger. Regardless, I may have to pick me up one of these bad boys when they become available.

Invert Mini Test Fire

Saturday, December 2nd, 2006

Okay, just to see a visual comparison here’s a clip of the Invert Mini.

After seeing the two, I think I like the PMR better. Not just because it really rips, but I think it just looks better in my opinion. It seems like the Invert would just be so awkward to balance and all, considering it’s nothing more than a tube with some grips hanging from it. I hope PMR kills the invert in sales, but that’s just me.

Proto Matrix Rail Dry Firing 26BPS

Saturday, December 2nd, 2006

My god, check out this clip of the PMR. It’s dry firing at 26BPS on ramp. Niiiiiice.

Dangerous Power Fusion Paintball Marker

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

The DP Fusion is one of the most incredible, and unknown, markers out today. It’s operating system is similar to that of a Wrath, BKO’s, the AR-1, and several other markers. Using the basic FASOR (Forward Air Spring Operated Return) design, the DP Fusion’s is one of the first to be designed from the ground up. Because of this, the DP Fusion far outpaces all of the guns I listed previously. It’s extremely consistent, efficient, and has very little kick. (Think less than high-end Timmy’s)

The operating system is designed to be very lightweight, and when I felt the gun myself, I was truly amazed. The only part that felt heavy when we took it apart was the pair of grip panels. The gun is amazingly balanced and felt a ton more comfortable with my 48/3000 and Evlution2 on it than my Ion does.

It has an optical trigger, which felt awkward at first, but after some easy adjustments, was pretty incredible. The board is simple to adjust, although it is in itself very simple. 15/20 BPS Semi, and 15/20 BPS PSP Ramp are the four modes available on the stock board. It also has breakbeam eyes, a step up from most FASORs, as well as SP markers.

To be exceedingly blunt, the DP Fusion is NOT designed to be a back up gun. It can and will compete with many high-end guns, especially the top ‘06 ones.
